Changing your email address
If you need to update the email address associated with your HomeGauge account, follow these steps:
- Login to your HomeGauge Dashboard
- Select Profile > Profile Contact Info
- Change your email in the appropriate field and scroll to the bottom to submit changes.
- Next, on the left menu, Click Account Settings
- Select Account Contact Info
- Change your email in the appropriate fields and scroll to the bottom to submit the changes.
Adding or Editing Your Company Profile Contact Information
To modify the contact information displayed on your Company Profile Page, follow these steps:
- Click Profile > Profile Contact Info
- Click Edit
- From here, you can edit the information on your Company Profile Page.
- Save all Profile edits by going to the bottom of the slide-out and clicking Save
Public Information
- Toggle "Show Profile in search results" to display your profile publicly and appear in search engine results.
This information will be shown on your public profile, including a link to your website. The final field on this screen is for your website's address - be sure to fill it in for maximum traffic to your site.

Adding Your Company Logo
Your logo is used in various places, including the search results page, company profile, and contact information on the customer dashboard.
Customize your branding by adding your company logo to various places, including the search results page, and company profile:
- Click Edit
- Click Add Logo (Note: This logo must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)
- Navigate to your logo on your hard drive
- You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag to create a box around your logo. You can click and drag the edges to resize the selection.
- Click Crop & Save to complete the process
- Save all Profile edits by going to the bottom of the slide-out and clicking Save
Adding an Inspector Photo
Enhance your Company Profile Page by adding a personal touch with your inspector photo:
- Click Edit
- Under Profile Picture, click Add Photo (Note: This logo must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)
- Navigate to your logo on your hard drive
- You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag to create a box around your photo. You can click and drag the edges to resize the selection.
- Click Crop & Save Changes to complete the process
- Save all Profile edits by going to the bottom of the slide-out and clicking Save
Adding an Organization Logo
If you have an organization logo or any additional picture, you can add it to your Company Profile Page:
- Click Edit
- Under Additional Image, click Add Photo (Note: This logo must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)
- Navigate to your logo on your hard drive.
- You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag to create a box around your photo. You can click and drag the edges to resize the selection.
- Click Crop & Save to complete the process.
- Save all Profile edits by going to the bottom of the slide-out and clicking Save
Describe your Company further by adding your Qualifications, Short Description, Sponsoring Inspector and Listing Text
- Click Profile > Qualifications & Description
- Click Edit
- Add additional information on the appropriate slide-out field
- Click Save when done
- Click View My Profile to view how the text displays
Adding Social Network Links to Your Profile
Connect your social media accounts to your profile:
- Click Profile > Social Networks
- Click Edit
- Add your social network accounts on this slide-out, following the instructions for each.
- Click Save when you're done.
Adding or Updating Your Searchable Counties
The county listing is part of the home inspector search engine provided by HomeGauge. When a customer or real estate professional searches for inspectors within a certain county from a state, all inspectors signed up for coverage in that specific county are listed. By default, each inspector is set to cover the county associated with the zip code listed in their contact information. There is no limit to the number of counties you may list as having coverage, but each county must be added or removed using this tool. The counties are organized by state and are selected by checkboxes in the next step.
- Click Profile > Update Searchable Counties
- Click Add County Coverag
- Choose a state
- Check the boxes of the counties you'd like to add.
- Click Save.
To edit an existing state's county list:
- Click Edit, Remove, or Add County Coverage
Changing Your User Name and Password
For account security, consider changing your login information regularly.
Changing your username and password will disconnect your devices from HomeGauge servers. Please remember to update your login info on both the desktop report writer and Companion.
- On the report writer, go to HG Services > Enter Inspector HG Username.
- On the HG Companion, click the menu button in the upper right > HG Services > Username and Password.
- Click Account Settings > Account Contact Info
- Click Edit
- To change your username, type your new User Name, then click Save
- To change your password, type and confirm your new password, then click Save
- Secure passwords combine upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Passwords made from random words separated by dashes are equally secure and easier to remember.
- It's advisable that you refrain from using passwords from other accounts.
- Changing your password frequently ensures that your account will be as secure as possible.
If you see the error User Name is already used, the user name you typed is already in our system under another profile. Pleas retype the user name to something different.
If you see the error The two passwords are not the same. The passwords do not match. Please ensure that you type the identical passwords in both fields and click Submit again.
