Texas TREC REI 7-6 Updates
CompletedTREC REI 7-6 was adopted by the TREC commission on 08/09/21. The effective date is 02/01/22 but inspectors can start using it as early as 09/01/21. HomeGauge is planning to release updates for both the Desktop and Web report writers early in Q4. The Desktop template updates will be made available via the normal release update process. The Web update will replace the current Texas print format that is expected to be available to inspectors before the end of September. A marked-up version of the report can be found here: Microsoft Word - REI 7-6 -marked up (IAC recommendation).docx (texas.gov).

Hello everyone!
We are adding the final touches to the TREC 7-6 for the HomeGauge Desktop report writer but are a bit behind our original schedule. If you're interested in getting early access to the files while we get the official installer ready, please feel free to reach out here or by emailing productfeedback@homegauge.com

Hey Rikki!
Sorry for the delay, we are almost done. We have a version ready to go but there is a caveat. The current installer we have will over write your footer to say REI 7-6 instead of REI 7-5 for all reports. So if you were to try and go back to an old report done on the REI 7-5 print setting you would also have to manually edit the footer.
We are going to hold off releasing to everyone the installer until we can get this fixed. If you don't care about the extra work with the footer you can reach out to support@homegauge.com and let us know and we can get you that first version to work with.
Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out! We'll message you personally once it's ready, though there will also be an announcement.

tick tock!!!! We NEED this form ASAP!!!! A lot of work has to be done on our parts to get our templates ready and its LESS than a month until we are required to use them. Its been since September since you have known this was coming. When is the form going to be ready?

Seems this is going to be last minute; I'm not sure how long it takes to correct the footer on a form though; might need a new developer.

Come on Homeguage you guys are supposed to better than this. This is horrible service on your part this was announced in September. This is a mandatory template for state of Texas are we not important enough to be taken care of. Truthful update would be very professional on your part.

This warning appears on the FAQ for how to update 7-6 that was posted only 17 hours ago... Are you telling us that the problem really is not fixed and that we just have to deal with it on our own?
"Warning"
"After updating to TREC REI 7-6, your footer for all Texas reports will indicate TREC REI 7-6. If you need to reproduce a report that was built with the TREC 7-5 Template, you will need to restore your 7-5 footer. If needed, please contact the HomeGauge Support team by using the Help option on the bottom right of the Support Center."

Thomas, the information wasn't meant to be seen as a bug that needed to be fixed.
Since both REI 7-5 and 7-6 share a footer file in HomeGauge, this warning is intended to make inspectors aware that if they were to open or start a TREC 7-5 report between now and February and upload or print it, the footer of the report would say TREC 7-6. The report itself would still be valid as 7-5 is valid until February 1st.0 -
It was my understanding that we have been waiting since September for this specific issue to be addressed and corrected by the developer (See HomeGauge's comments at the beginning of this thread to support this opinion). If this issue was not the cause for the delay since September then what was the delay?
